There are many widely-accepted English proficiency tests such as TOFEL, IELTS, and PTE.
– TOEFL (as The Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a test which measures people’s English language skills to see if they are good enough to take a course at university or graduate school in English-speaking countries.
– IELTS stands for “International English Language Testing System.” This test assesses the English ability of non-native English speakers.
– PTE Academic English Language Test (PTE, as known as the Pearson test) is a computer-based test, which aims to measure your English language proficiency level across the four core skills. Those skills are Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. In contrast to IELTS test, mostly, the PTE tests two skills at the same time. For example, your score will be marked as listening and reading or reading and speaking together in one question.
